creating ARTS Gallery

Step 1- Create a Google Account.
A. Go to www.blogger.com
B. Click on “Don’t have a Google account?” Get Started
C. Use school email to register. DO NOT use your school PASSWORD if you want students to work with the online gallery.
D. (Display Name). This is what appears after every post you make. Example- Miller or Avella Artists. Use something that describes your school.
E. Word Verification
F. Acceptance of Terms checked
G. Continue
H. Create a name for your Gmail account and check availability- This will become the website address when searching for your blog.
I. Submit

(Create Your Blog Now)
Step 2- Dashboard blogger
A. Blog Title- Example “Avella Artists”
B. Blog Address. Example “www. avellaarts.blogspot.com”
C. Continue


Step 3- Choose Template
A. Start Blogging

Settings
A. Basic-Description- Write a description about your Art Gallery. (Save Settings)
B. Formatting-Show at most. Change 7 to a higher number. Ex. 30 (Save Settings)
C. Comments-Comments. Select Hide. (Save Settings) By selecting Hide, it prevents students from commenting on the images and posts. This is to prevent slander or negative comments against students and/or their work.
D. Archiving-Archive Frequency. Choose what you prefer. I select No Archive so more images stay on the page. (Save Settings)

Design
A. About Me- Edit-Change About Me to (Your School Name) Ex. Avella’s Art World. Write Description of your Art room or students. (Optional) Save
B. Adding Gadgets – Click Add a Gadget (above Followers) Slide down to Link List.
Title- Links
Leave number of links to show in list blank
C. Start Adding Links
New site URL- Add everyone’s website address from this class and create new Site Name for each address. Click “Add Link”
D. Deleting and Arranging order of Links-
Arranging order-click arrows to move the links up or down. This will be the order in which the links appear on the page.
Deleting- Select Delete
E. Blog’s Stats- Select “Add a Gadget” from the bottom of page- This will allow you to see how much action your site is receiving.
Select Style-Save
F. Blog Posts- Edit
Post Page Options- Select the options you wish to appear after each post.
G. Save all changes

Posting

H. Adding Pictures- Click “Insert Image” (blue and white picture icon)
Select “BROWSE”
Select Size of Image
Add Caption
Select Text (size, font, placement, color)
Preview
Publish Post


I. Creating a Blog Creating a second blog. (To use as links or extra blogs specific to your arts gallery. Ex. I use a new blog for individual galleries of students who may have a lot of work.)
• Click “Create a Blog” from your dashboard
• Title Blog
• Create a www. site name
• Continue and begin designing
